Thermal Mass Flowmeters

TSB supplies Thermal Mass Flowmeters in Jordan for direct mass flow measurement of gases across compressed air, industrial gases, natural gas, biogas, utilities and process applications.

The thermal measuring principle uses two temperature sensors. One measures the gas temperature while the second is heated. As gas flows past the heated sensor, heat is removed in proportion to the mass flow. The energy required to maintain the temperature difference is used to determine the gas mass flow directly, without requiring separate pressure or temperature compensation.

Thermal Mass Flowmeters are particularly suited to gas applications where direct mass flow measurement, high turndown and low pressure loss are important.

Because the measuring principle determines mass flow directly from the cooling effect of the gas, separate pressure and temperature compensation is generally not required. This can simplify the measuring point and reduce the amount of additional instrumentation needed.
