Endress+Hauser vortex flowmeters from Endress+Hauser
Provides accurate and reliable measurement of steam, gases, and liquids in industrial applications. Based on the vortex shedding principle, these meters are particularly suited for steam measurement, energy monitoring, and utility systems. The Proline Prowirl 200 series offers compact and remote configurations, high temperature capability, and integrated mass flow calculation with temperature and pressure compensation.
Product Overview
The vortex portfolio includes Proline Prowirl F 200, D 200, O 200, and R 200 models designed for different installation and pressure requirements:
• Prowirl F 200 – Flanged version with wet steam detection and high accuracy
• Prowirl D 200 – Cost-effective wafer design
• Prowirl O 200 – Optimized for high-pressure applications
• Prowirl R 200 – Reduced bore version for low flow ranges
These flowmeters measure volumetric flow and, with compensation, calculate mass flow of saturated and superheated steam, gases, and liquids.

Integration & System Compatibility
Proline Prowirl vortex flowmeters integrate with DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems via digital communication protocols. The Proline transmitter platform supports remote diagnostics, configuration, and energy monitoring integration. Optional temperature and pressure inputs allow direct mass flow calculation without external flow computers.
Why Vortex Flow Measurement
Vortex technology is well suited for steam and gas applications where durability, temperature resistance, and stable measurement are required. Unlike mechanical meters, vortex meters have no moving parts, reducing wear and maintenance. Integrated compensation enables accurate mass flow measurement for energy management and utility billing.
